Catarina Rivera, MSEd, MPH, CPACC is a disability public speaker, DEIA consultant, and content creator with over 14 years of experience in the public sector. Catarina works with companies to improve disability awareness, inclusion, and accessibility. She is the founder of Blindish Latina, a platform smashing disability stigmas through storytelling and advocacy. Catarina has worn hearing aids from a young age and was diagnosed with a progressive vision disability at 17 years old. She has a BA from Duke University, an MSEd from Bank Street College of Education, and an MPH from Hunter College. Catarina is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (IAAP).

Getting Disability Pride Right
Early in my career, I was one of the founding leaders of a Disability Inclusion Affinity Group at my workplace. When I first joined, the group was called the "Differently Abled" affinity group.
The name made me cringe, but I held myself back, willed myself to be patient, and said, "I'd love to join and be one of the leaders."
Getting that name changed took time, patience, and sustained advocacy. It required internal education, open discussion, and centering disabled voices. When we finally aligned on a new name, one that reflected our goal of disability inclusion, it was our first real accomplishment as a group.
That experience taught me something I carry into every ERG conversation: the work of disability inclusion is complex. It requires understanding disability identity, holding space for nuance, and facilitating challenging conversations.
Most ERG leaders are doing this work with limited support and even less time. That's exactly why we’re hosting this event.

A single external speaker event typically runs $2,000–$10,000+.
